Set up in 2001, the .NAME generic domain extension is the sole TLD meant for personal web pages only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are famous by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to buy john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level names remained functional.

Through our company, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registration service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no special requirements on who can obtain a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
